I. headphone music for people with open minds
music to help you get your thoughts together
This collection by Al Steele (Wyatt Earp Records) and Thomas Totten (Smiling Sacrifice,Feast Of Saints,Lack Of Afro) was originally created and released as 2 individual albums to be absorbed as whole works, instead of being presented as traditional sets of "songs". The overall consensus by listeners at the time was that it was left highly up to interpretation. No song titles were offered until the release of the second album, II-W.G.M.A.T.A.T.S.
I initially captured both albums sequentially with little space between each album (and each side), unaware of the challenge ahead of tracking them. So the exact track definitions may not be what was originally intended. I came up with 20 tracks, as did they, but the names don't seem to match the lyrical content in some spots. Since this mystery originally existed for listeners of the original tapes, I've continued to leave it up to their interpretation. For convenience sake, I've broken up the albums into what I think can reasonably be understood as separate musical thoughts so you can navigate around the anthology, if need be.
